Currently for sale asking 35 000 NOK, or about $4300. Just slightly more than what I used on my 142 three years ago.

To be honest most barnfinds are in better shape than your DS.

I sure hope it is in as good a state as it looks to be, because the price is a steal. Here in the Netherlands an Amazon wagon of around this price is a complete rust bucket, whereas relatively nice ones cost around €13k.(I know not fully comparable to Scandinavia, but we have always had a fair share of Volvos driving around)

The ad is removed now, seems like it sold pretty quickly. HGV’s are quite rare here as well, in good shape they can catch double the price of this one. I guess there were some things to fix after nearly 30 years in storage.

Norwegian prices are affected by how close we are to Sweden, making import of good looking old Volvos easier than in the Netherlands. It’s also been among the best selling cars for the past 50 years (and still counting). I know that some of the rarer models that have been for sale here either got offers from or sold to Dutch collectors.

Ah that’s a shame. Yep, there are lots of Volvo collectors over here, though they mainly focus on amazons and PV444/544(we call it ‘Kattenrug’ due to the arching rear resembling a cats back). However the 100 and 200-series are getting more and more popular too.

Just be aware that if you buy such a thing, it might go missing in the middle of the night. If the next day, someone such as myself posts that they got a nearly identical car, it won’t be yours!

I’ll report back tomorrow if I see it at the swap meet I’m going to. If it isn’t there, it’s gone..

I guess HGV doesn’t mean in Norwegian what it does in English!
